To Override or not to Override

I have a few questions about overrides. I have never used them before until now. I implemented them for kickoff team since opponents are returning a kickoff for a touchdown EVERY GAME against me, it seems.

1. Are overrides worth the time to set up?
2. Do I need to set up an override for every formation?
3. What are the specific situations where an override could really help me?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

There are some occasions when it could help.

Maybe you have an A+ TE. You could sub him in as one of WRs in a formation that doesn't include a TE.

It can also help with the special teams to make sure the have the player(s) you want in the correct positions.

Some people get really detailed about it, but I don't.

i'm just starting to use them now and they seem useful. Kind of like rules, your team will play OK without them but they can help give you those tiny edges that are often the difference between winning and losing at the highest level.

Two instances of where i have used them is where a had a backup LT who was a 'pass-blocking' specialist (better than the starter). In obvious passing situations/formations (like 5 WR) he goes in.
Another was the split-backs formation where there is a pitch option and the formation normally uses a (fast) RB and (slower) FB to take a naked pitch. When the FB takes it he goes nowhere, so i substitute another RB for the FB.

The uses are really only limited to the imagination but time ROI is important to me. If my team is so bad that none of the GP stuff will make any difference i concentrate on more important things like obtaining and training better players.

I use it to try and create match ups.

Also as you found out, using it for special teams is pretty much a must. I try to keep up on it when the injury game comes into play. But I forget from time to time. Getting torched usually reminds me. lol
